When Miggy Got Sick

Last Tuesday, June 10, 2014, I brought Miggy to the hospital for check-up. He had constant diarrhea and bouts of vomiting since Saturday, June 7, 2014. I got scared he might fall into dehydration and will need intravenous therapy. Well, my gut feeling was confirmed when the doctor told me that he is already in moderate dehydration.

IV insertion was an ordeal for my little boy. He got a total of 14 unsuccessful IV insertion attempts but they just could not found any good vein. Once they're in, the site would just bulge and infiltration happens. We resorted to oral rehydration, Pedialyte, to replenish lost electrolytes. His other medications include Erceflora and Immuzinc.

We got discharged yesterday and he was diagnosed with Acute Gastroenteritis with Moderate Dehydration. Right now, he's feeding properly and sleeping a lot. Maybe because he is still recuperating from dehydration.

Ate Gabs and Ate Mika already cried with him while the doctors are trying to get an IV inserted.

You haven't seen the rest of needle marks here, but he's so tired that he doze off to sleep after each insertion.

Drinking Pedialyte (apple flavor) while Tatay is trying to calm him down.

Ang makulit na Maxime! (Mam malaki po ang problema ng sasakyan nyo. Walang makina e.#echoserangbata)

First Day High

Today is the first day of school and Mika is about to embark to a whole new schooling experience. In preparation for this big day, my husband and I woke up at 5AM, cooked her baon (seared liempo and rice), and made her breakfast (Energen drink).

Personally, I am quite nervous because everything will be new for her. New school, new teachers, new classmates, and she's not yet comfortable in speaking Tagalog. Plus, she gets to commute too in going home since her dismissal time is very early for her Tatay to pick her up. We instructed her how to ride the jeepney and even told her what to say to the driver. Hayyyyy....the whole day I can't get my mind straight thinking of her day at school and her plight of riding the jeepney for the first time all by herself.

At the end of the day, she reported that she gained new friends and she was able to introduce herself in class. I'm glad and thankful that she made it through the first day. I hope that all is well for her throughout the schoolyear.

My Message to the Graduating Class of 2014

Summer of 2013.

SACR Batch 2014.

It was a great pleasure to be with you my dear students as you embarked on this one-of-a-kind experience in your Nursing school -- the Manila Summer Affiliation, our last days together.

For an Anthonian, this is the most awaited part of your 4-year stay at St. Anthony College of Roxas City. Each one of you have your own stories to tell, realizations to uphold, and memories to treasure that this experience have brought you.

I can only say that this has contributed to the success of your personas as your graduation comes to a close.

Congratulations, Graduates!

To those who have achieved such tremendous accolades, simply because of their hard work and dedication, I salute you! I always take pride in all your undertakings since we started in Nursing Informatics. It is a humbling experience on my part that I am one of those who have cultivated you into who you are now.

To the rest of the gang, don't stray and congratulations as well. You've made it all, and I am thankful for all of you!

Our Memories Together

Here are some of the photos that I saved. Talking about throwback!

The most difficult tests ever!!! (I always get that a lot from you)

Congratulations, anak!

NCMH Days!

I can't wait to call you all "Colleagues!"

Last but not the least, to the Top of the Class...I salute you, Summa!

Your NSO Certificate Delivered At Your Door

Everything is now accessible when you have internet connection. From shopping online, food delivery, and even your NSO certificate delivered at your door.

Last February 27, 2013, my daughter Gabie texted me that she needs a copy of her birth certificate (NSO copy) to comply with graduation requirements. Being far from her and negating the thought of asking my Nanay for help in getting a copy, I ran to my computer and searched for the online services of NSO Birth Certificates.

NSO online

3-Easy Steps

The webpage have 3-easy steps to follow:

I entered my name as the person who requested for the birth certificate. Then I entered the birth data of Gabie. They will also be asking for the place where you want it delivered. I specified in the application that it will be delivered to the province so that I will no longer send it separately.

After you have finished everything, you will now pay the for the requested document. As you can see below, the document requested can be delivered not only in the Philippines but also to other countries. Of course, variation to the payment will entail.

So, I paid for my document thru BDO bank at Php315. That was also done on same date I applied online. If you have credit card, no need to go out and pay over the counter.

Once payment has been processed, they will send you an email regarding your transaction and the estimated time of delivery of the said document.

They were able to receive the document March 8, 2013. That's 6 working days since I made payment. Not bad, right? The service is indeed time-saving and very appropriate for those who are not able to go directly to City Hall or NSO offices.

Aside from online, NSO services are also available in some malls within the Metro.
